These Pyro Bugatti's are one of my favorites, although very difficult to get running gear under it. Here are a couple I've done and got one of each in progress.

I used the BRM S124 Classic 25x7 wheels on this one but they were just too big.

It's definitely going to be a challenge getting everything under the body. I'll be using 1/2 a Penelope Pitlane chassis (the motor carrier and the rear wheel bearing housing). The rest will be square brass stock curved to follow the arch of the plastic chassis rails. There shouldn't be much mechanism visible. Just fitting it all together now. The rear wheel skirts don't fit, as with a lot of things with Pyro and the wheels wouldn't have clearance with them anyway so no big loss. I'll be using Borranni wire wheels from PST.

Anybody know why the Pyro kits are at such a premium on E-Bay. The quality isn't near that of Airfix or Matchbox.

Definitely destined to be a thing of beauty in your hands.

I think the premium on Pyro kits is simply due to the range in comparison to the Airfix and Matchbox repops.

Greetings, I have a good friend who travels to many model shows across the U.S. and Canada selling static kits of many different types. He told me that the car guys in particular pay attention to boards like this and all the others to see what is being built either as a slot car or static model or what what the folks who collect models are looking for. So it might come down to supply and demand? I know I have seen the same Pyro kit for sale by different sellers, with one selling it for 9.99 and another with a buying price of 29.99. But if you scan through the prices on EBay it seems the the higher priced models for sale seem to be the pre-war cars. Could be the sellers have an eye on here and other places? :?: Regards, John

That shape belongs in an art gallery.

Get it moving around a track and WOW,

Look forward to seeing how you fit everything in.

I thought this car might generate a little interest. It really is unique and a thing of beauty. It's no wonder the 1:1 is priced in the stratosphere. I'm really looking forward to the challenge of building it.

The Atalante and Atlantic have got to be the most beautiful things out of the Bugatti stable. Cars of this era have an elegance that is unsurpassed by anything of the modern era.

You guys are too kind. Just living out my automotive fantasies through toys. We can't all be Jay Leno or Ralph Lauren.
