TGIF! Shopping & Waiting

Postby HomeRacingWorld » Fri Nov 15, 2013 8:18 am

Another busy week around here. Sadly we were informed about Kihm passing away. Losing a part of our little family is never easy and he will be missed.

Slot.it just announced the McLaren M8D is shipping. Big release for them this year, so check with your dealer. The Scalextric Challenger & Cougar are also two highly anticipated releases and should be arriving soon.

Time for some sales to start. Cincyslots is gearing up for a "Black Friday" sale it appears, so I might put back a few to see what he has. Keep an eye out on all your favorite dealers because I am sure all sorts of deals will be happening.

More reviews added this past week with more to come. Some brand new, some not so new. Thanks go out to Bibbster, Kurt, Jesse, and all the others who help out with product reviews. Remember, you can be famous like these guys. Just email or PM and I will help you with our guidelines for article submission.

Hope all of you have a great weekend.

I'll be pampering my Dodge Avenger some tomorrow, inflating her tires some, getting her washed, and driving her around a bit to help charge up the battery. She's been fairly neglected lately.

But other than that, no real plans this weekend for me. :)

I have to finish up the Mini this weekend for the Autograss proxy. Waiting on decals for the 70' Camaro to get here so I can finish that one up too but it may be next week. Wife is going out with the girls from work for a "ladies night" so it will just be me and the kids tonight and probably just run some laps around the track to pass the time. So many new cars out and on the way its getting hard to resist so I have to park my truck on my wallet so I don't spend all my money...

Working on scenerying my new 4 lane Ho track this weekend. I have the side containment boards on around the door now and the guard rails up. Breaking out the can of great stuff spray foam to build the scenery base. Putting in a pit area on the one end in the open area and scratch building some grandstands and a timing tower also.

I raided my model rail road supplies and found a bunch of trees to put around the layout also.

More pics to follow as I progress along.

Busy weekend for me. Wire the track this afternoon. Cook a birthday meal Sat for my mother-in-law. (Great Lady) Also, figure out what boarder I'm going to use for the track. The track theme will be an old town feel, country side with a stream, a farm, and an old garage. Also an gas station.

I hopefully be doing some 124/132 digital racing Saturday. I also want to add a couple trees to my layout. Oh, I have a custom BRM Megane to finish and photo.

As for shopping......most of us in these parts are waiting on the Carrera 124 Mercedes. It just can't get here fast enough.

COD? Oh I play COD, name the game, I play them all. Ghosts is on a learning curve right now. It takes a little time to learn all the maps. Slotwise I'm working on an RMS Datsun 510, and a Ninco 356 Porsche. Always a project going it seems. Sunday I'll be waiting for the tornado sirens to howl. :)

Hopefully get some more Jag drivers painted. May start on some personality bits for the cars. Still waiting on brass from 2 places. No one has the right size in stock. Gave in and ordered it from over there. 2 more weeks to wait. Already waited 8.

Heading to South Bend to race the Slots N' Suds yearly event with the Dundee Boyz.

Mark has quite the track. His track at some point last year is on Reader Roads, will have to forward some pictures of Saturdays racing on his fabulous updated version!!

132 feet of just plain fun!!
