VW Microbus in 1/32 Scale

The way that runs, I hate to think what it would do if it were resin. I think its fine as is. I have a 1:1 bus. so that's dear to my heart. I have resin bodies, and if I ever get caught up around here, I'll be posting them.

The bus is outfitted with a Ninco NC-9 Sparker, Slot.It 11t pinion, 27t AW Spur, axle and bushings, CB Design hubless 15 X 8 rear insert wheels, a Scale Auto guide with Slot.It braid and NSR rubber. The front end makes use of the original axle, wheels and tires as they are reasonably true. I may change them out for aluminum wheels and Zero Grips at some point. It depends how well the other guys get their buses running. Jeff - I emailed you pics of the bus with decals - appreciate you posting the pics.

I'm trying to get started on my bus chassis. Meanwhile, here are the pics Steve sent of his red bus with all the decals and pipes added.







Later this week, I'll make a vacuum-formed interior for these little gems.

That's cool Dave. I love the weathered look, the tilted front windows and the luggage rack. Is that bus 1/32 scale or 1/24?

Nice Vdub! The brass chassis looks great too! I think I'm the lone VW enthusiast in my group. So, I build 4 of every VW I want to race...since, nobody else has them. Thanks Norb for sending me this link!

11:27! and a nicely done brass wire chassis to boot.
no wonder the thing leaps out of the corners. seems to work pretty well tho.

Thanks for all the comments on the chassis work. The build went real smooth with Steve's help. I got two more almost done. This time using a Parma guide so I had to change things up a bit. Plus I did one inline just to see how it would work. Here's the pics:








I still have a little work to do on the Bojangles bus. Then I'll start working on the interiors.

Very cool! I have a VW Bus in the dungeon somewhere that I bought a while ago. I'm getting more inspired by the day. 8-)
