I'm wondering if the nose cone is held on by cellotape. The wheels look good. They'll look great on another car.

I volunteered to be the bad guy on those ludicrous AMT repops, then another on their slightly improved later versions, but I wouldn't touch this turd with a 10 foot cattle prod. Kurt is a dozen years younger than me and 99% nicer, so as far as I'm concerned, he's elected! Its still going to be a hard review to write, but he'll dig around and find something about it that isn't silly. Others could do it, but Kurt is so nice...

Yeah, some things are too much for anyone I guess. This thing may really be a new low. Maybe the thing to do is just let it slip by with a few well-chosen jibes and ridicule. There have been a few in the past that were best dealt with that way... PinkCar?

I have to admit, I wonder if there is a salvage for this thing other than tossing the body out. When it gets cheap, maybe we'll look into that, too.

I'll bet it runs great though and will provide lots of parts for other projects and the body could be made into some of the good dirt trackers shown here with a little work.

It looks like they patterned it after one of the poorer replicas that is out there. As far as a fix goes I wonder if you remove the nose cone and lay it vertically on some 200 sandpaper whether it could be sanded to the point where it matches the body and if there is some taper to the body it might be sanded too. Then of course you remove the outside mirror and tail pipes. Worst case, trim the chassis and put a R/M classic Nascar body on it. At least this one has Nascar rims on it instead of stock rims with baby moons.

Anybody that watches BBC's Top Gear knows that Jeremy Clarkson hates Nascar and thinks it's an abomination so maybe he had a hand in this.

Bob, I wondered about that, too. Reducing the extension of the nose might not be as noticeable as that abomination is. I actually have a Carrera version of that car without a chassis and I wonder if I might use the chassis that way.
