Scalextric modeled the Mopar ultra rare cowl induction nose cone, it forces fresh air to the radiator. :lol: I will probably be one of the few who buys one of these just for the novelty. They ought to make good chassis fodder though!

Mark, I saw a track with a tunnel once. Just in case you're serious let me tell you, it was a disaster. One car gets out of shape, and magically, every other car on the track is suddenly coming into the tunnel at full speed. I saw two brothers get in a fight over the damage, and they built the track!

Trying to decide just how much Scalex are tacking the pi$$ out of everyone. I wonder if they'll deliver it in a plain brown wrapper so that you don't have to be embarrassed when it's delivered. Perhaps they can use leftovers as their Scalex club car for future years.

Wait until you see it in the standard scalextric box. It's so big they had to put a plastic cover over the rear wing to stop it rubbing on the plastic case.

Fortunately, there's nothing to be grumpy about. Errors like this are easily seen by all, so they don't cost us anything. If a car has a mechanical flaw, we don't find out until after we buy it. With this kind of mistake, Scalextric pays for it, and we go on our merry way and buy another Carrera Superbird.

If anything, they've given us a great gift, and that's the gift of laughter. And isn't that the greatest gift of all? *ducks under barrage of flying tomatoes*

Not that I am in a hurry to get one, but I can't find any online stores that have them in stock yet. A couple list it as a preorder item at $52.00. I'll buy one at $20-$30 but not at over $50.

Here's the best part - Scalextric probably knows that they've not done a great job on the looks of this car. Even with the good-natured and the flat-out mocking, we've heard nary a cross word. They do other things well, so while it is surprising when they do something this bad, they will bounce back and give us other good offerings.
