What a classic. How this one has escaped production in 1:32 for this long, I'll never know.

I have cast the 260 in resin...and vac formed a window set.



This is a typical munter build...ie nearly finished. I have since done a vac formed interior tray and cast a grill. I have bumpers to do yet, some light covers and some other bits and bobs.

I have supplied a couple of others to my club members and we have three runners so far.

It is odd that after Aurora had such a hit with this car and the 510 mate in HO (AFX), nobody else got on the bandwagon. I would have thought that Aurora would at least do a K&B 1/32 version, but as far as I know, nobody including Aurora did it at all. It was a spectacular car.

I've said it before, it might be worth repeating -- companies should be looking at doing 1:32 versions of the Aurora/AFX cars that the hobbyists grew up with. This is one of them. Not all of them, obviously (Peace Tank, anyone?), but the familiar favorites.

You haven't said it to me, and that's a GREAT idea! I'd remember that for sure. I'd include Model Motoring (vibe & TJet) in that, too, although there actually have been some of them lately, like Galaxies, Cougars, Chargers, Challengers, Cudas, etc.

Which is not to say I don't love the looks of the Munter project! That is a beautiful job!

I loved the cars when they came out. Second only in my mind to the Capri MK1. They made the other straight 6 powered sports cars (MGB GT, Triumph GT6 and Triumph Tr 6) look ancient in comparison. I can remember when you could buy entire replacement floors and rockers from JC Whitney because they rusted so bad! Datsun had a silent warranty program offering to buy back the early 240's for better than book value or an offer for more than book in a trade in to prevent the company from getting a bad reputation. Datsun then had the cars scrapped. No wonder good examples are rare today!
