I always loved the earlier Firebird (really a Camaro, but they slipped through a loophole and put most of a Firebird front clip and hood on it). I did it in 1/24 years ago, but I never got around to doing it with a 1/32 resin body I got from David. Maybe this winter...

Here's the first one I've seen in the package..

The nose, while still too big is not as terrible as the initial pictures..

and they have removed the drivers side passenger car mirror.

The whole back window area looks different as well.

No pictures of the rear end yet to see if the passenger car dual exhuast is still there..

But.. it does look a little bit 'better' than it did..

I can't believe they actually did that.
What are they thinking really I'd like to know no wonder they have problems with work like that.
It is down right embarrassing.
I'd bet my grandson could've done that, and it wouldn't have been that far off at the nose.

Some corporate office bean counter probably figured that the nose would cost $0.001 less per unit to attach to the body that way.

What if the problem did not occur in Scalex's design process but in the Chinese manufacturing process? And what if if was not picked up until several thousand models were produced? Does the company junk them all and take a complete hit on the whole thing losing all the funds they put into R&D, tooling and manufacture? Or do they put it to market to try to recoup some of their monetary input? I suggest that the latter has been done here.

Why would Scaley take all the hit? The contracted company should eat it
for not doing a small batch run of whites for final approval and Sticking
too it.

No way that would have been allowed to pass as is as a mistake. I believe they were trying to re-coup the Charger body they had by simply "adding on". The parts, the tail panel all points to that for me. If some of us didn't know the cars so well, they might have gotten away with it too.

I'll still forgive them though...more parts for me later and they are giving us 2 more new T/A cars. I'll run the Carreras for looks...
