COMPETITION GUIDE
SCale Open-wheel Racing Enthusiasts (SCORE) was created in 1995 in order to continue the area’s open wheel slot car tradition It is the intent of SCORE to provide a fair and competitive format for enthusiasts who enjoy racing Sprint, Midget, and Dirt Champ cars.
Participants should become familiar with the contents of this guide in order to understand the procedures that will be used during SCORE events. Whenever there is a question concerning a rule or procedure, it shall be the responsibility of the competitor to seek clarification from the Race Director.
The Race Director shall have the final decision in the interpretation of any rule, regulation, or procedure expressed, implied, or omitted. Any rule or procedure may be altered by the Race Director due to unusual circumstances or special programs.
It should be remembered that SCORE activities are meant to be enjoyable experience for all participants who wish to test their competitive skills, therefore, participants shall be expected to act in a sportsmanlike manner at all times.
A.WARM UPS
Competitors shall use the warm-up period before the event to make their final adjustments to their cars. Once the event has started, there shall be no long delays due to any car having mechanical problems.
B.STARTING ORDER

b.Drivers who have points in the division, highest to lowest, who missed the prior feature followed by:
c.New drivers in the division.
2.All races shall be run in rotation. After the initial segment, the starting field shall rotate one lane towards the outside. Drivers from the bottom of the starting order and thereafter upwards on the list shall enter the rotation on lane one. The race shall be completed when all competitors have run each designated lane.
C.RACES
1.With the exception of special events, the Sprint and Midget divisions shall run 10 lap segments and the Dirt Champ division 15 lap segments.
2.All segments shall have a 4 wreck limit.
3.Restarts after a wreck shall be on the portion of the track where the wreck occurred. The field will be realigned, nose to tail, in the running order when the wreck occurred with all cars out of their lanes going to the back of the field. During the final two laps of each segment, however, the race will be under the TWO LAP RULE in which cars will not be realigned when the power is turned off for a wreck except where a car has drifted past another still in its proper lanes. Such a car will be repositioned behind the first car it had passed in that manner.
4.The TWO LAP RULE shall begin when all un-lapped cars have crossed the start/finish line for two laps to go in the segment.
5.The segment shall be considered completed when all cars have finished the scheduled number of lanes.
D.WRECKS / PIT STOPS
1.Any car / driver that has caused the power to be shut off, either for a week or stopping on the track during a green flag lap, will be given a wreck.

b.when his/her car exit the track during a wreck. Then, the driver shall have 1 minute to brush off the car’s tires and make any repairs that do not require the car to be taken away from the track. After 1 minute the race will be restarted.
3.Elementary tasks such as adjusting the guide brushes, removing a weight, etc. that do not require more than momentary attention may be done by a turn marshal.
4.No motor or gear changes may occur during a segment. Any car blowing a motor or suffering extensive damaged due to a wreck will be considered to have wrecked out of that segment.
5.Any car losing a part that remains on the track surface and is deemed hazardous by the starter will cause the power to be shut off. The offending car will be charged with a wreck.
6.No part of a car may drag upon the track or interfere with another car’s ability to complete. If a turn marshal cannot remove the part, the driver must take a pit stop to correct the problem. The driver will be given 1 minute and will be charged with a wreck.
7.If the Starter mistakenly or accidentally turns off the power, the race will revert to the running order of the last completed and the field will be restarted at the start / finish line.
E.OVERVIEW
