Rob - yep, we're all on the same page...we like toy cars. I am just happy the finish is so nice on these, even if we can't all agree on the color being incorrect. It could be worse - like they didn't paint if fully, the clear was crap, or the clear hadn't cured and was now collecting fingerprints...now that would tick me off...

As for the wheel sets, I should have some inserts of those done this week that fit the SCC insert rims :D

Hey look at you, steppin' up! You need to be snowed in more often. No, that's a bad idea. When we were snowed in when I lived in Ontario, the whole family was ready to explode at each other. Its like my wife said many years ago when I quit cigarettes- Lock up the guns! Being snowed in sucks. So did cigarettes, come to think of it.

I don't care about the color near as much as to whether the car will run good. It's a blast to run something that really handles well. :auto-layrubber:
As far as the quitting cigarettes, my late wife said I was the total b*tch from hell when I quit. :laughing-rolling:

Well Greg...you are correct that it is close tolerances.

I think it will take a slice job on the interior.

Which would not hurt much given the bare-bones interior we have.

Maybe we will start a new thread on this one? Show us what you did so far? Sound ok?

I'll try to remember to post some pics of mine when I'm done. I'm hoping to get mine to run as well as the Camaro's, which is gonna be hard to do though because the Camaro's are wider.

Good tips thread. Didn't run the car out-of-the box and just went straight to the suggested mods for running on my wood track.

Thought the driver needed more color so out came the Tamiya light blue, flat black and aluminum bottle paint. May give the driver's helmet a black finish later on.



I couldn't save the Scalextric spur gear going to a Avant Slot aluminum wheel conversion, so an old Slot Car Heroes purple one came to the rescue.

Great looker and runner.

I love those purple gears. I used my last one a few weeks ago with great regret. What kills me is that I had a feeling I should stock up on them the last time I ordered, which was only a week or so before he announced he was done.
