Help finding Trans AM decal set?

Postby turbokev » Sat Dec 28, 2013 6:51 am

Howdy..

I just picked up a couple white Camaro Trans Am cars.. a 69 and a 70

One of the cars I want to do is this Alan Green Chevrolet..

But the only 1/32 decal sheet I can find so far is this one:

#7 is on the wrong hood stripe, the font for the lettering is wrong..

Anyone know where I can find a set that will replicate the car in my top picture?
I've checked Pattos and eBay.. no luck.

Thanks..

I don't see them on his site. But, you may try contacting him with the pic. May be able to hook you up. Just an idea.

Given it is on a white car, you could make them yourself using Testors decal kit.

Email Patto too, see if he has some tucked away?

Don't know if Tim at slotcars4u is doing it anymore.

turbokev -
If you have any luck - could you let me know who/where you get them from? I've seen the sets on eBay and like you, it wasn't what I wanted to go with - but I "would" like to have a couple sets of the proper decals, so if you do find a source, and don't mind sharing the info - I would appreciate it!
Thanks!

You do realize the car you showed is a 1967, which is a different body from a 1969? Also, Pioneer is coming out with the car soon.

Not sure about turbokev - but I know I noticed.
Unfortunately, Pioneers aren't allowed in the local commercial track's Trans Am races - only Scalextric, and since I was looking for something unique - I thought it would be nice to at least do a bit of a "tribute" to a car that was out there. :)
But duly noted... :)

Well, I emailed Patto with the data. I cannot speak for him of course, so we will see where it goes.

I'll paint a RMS Camaro if I need to, but I doubt we see any Pioneer version anytime in the near future.

I think if you want to do a tribute version, go for it. If it looks good to you, go for it :)

Yes, I am aware it was a 1967 car… However the 69 is close enough for my purposes.

I saw that Pioneer had this very car in the correct livery listed as a future release, but I know things are moving slower than those of us who like their products would like them to be…

So, if I can easily make an Alan Green Camaro from a 69 scalextric, that will be fine with me until something more accurate comes along.

Pattos place website says they are out until the second week of January… But there's no rush so hopefully we'll hear back from someone soon on the availability of this set.
