TGIF - What a year

Well, Friday is here and time to embrace a new year.

What are your slot car goals this year?

I need to paint the Skunkworks before Spring.

New controllers for the oval. No fancy ones around here, we know simple works well enough.

Complete more resin projects. Too long have they sat. This is the year to get started.

Just to name a few :)

I am finally going to get my track finished. I mean finished completely. There just isn't enough time to work on the track, practice driving, and tune the wee cars. Tuning and driving go together very nicely. So, getting the track totally done and off my agenda is my biggest priority.

Slot Goals for 2014 (in no particular order):
Finish my road course
Finish my rally track
Re-aquire or replace one of the Racer Resins I had sold a while back
Add 1 more LeMans miniature to my stable
Add 1 more Racer Silverline to my stable
Add 1 Monogram vintage nascar to my stable..I have none…yet.
Wrap up these projects that have been in limbo for far too long:
Jager Mustang, Jäger Vette, Two 71' Skylines (also Jager!), 2 carrera Capris, Cartrix BMW Z3, Scaley/HRS F40, 2 resin Porsche 928's
NOT start 10 more projects, lol.
Replace my PM controller with a DS (my dad has one and I'm really impressed with them).
Go to Missouri to visit HRWJim….FINALLY!

I guess it will be a very busy 2014 if all goes to plan. It will be interesting to re-visit this thread next January to see how many of these goals are met.

Finish my track - it's already on it's 3rd iteration but I'm sure I can squeeze in more track!
Add some more Carrera 124 cars.

Slot plans for 2014, start the scenery on my track and hopefully get it finished. Make another visit to HRW for a few days. Swap out all my motors in my Slot Its to H&R Hawk motors. Finally I hope to make the plunge and start making a few brass chassis for some T/A projects on my bench. Should be a busy year!

My attic wood track is up for a face lift this year. I will keep most of the basic layout and the scenery will be unchanged but I think I will pull up all of the ribbons trace their outlines onto new wood, cut it out and re route the whole thing. I also hope to focus more on kit bashes scratch builts cars this year rather than RTR. It doesn't help my plan when Scalextric and Slot.it keep coming out with must haves like the new RTR Trans Am and McLaren offerings. :violin:

I'd like to find room for a rally track somewhere. I have an OldSlotRacer routing kit, it would be rude not to use it.

Wouldn't mind developing some proficiency at building brass chassis.

And build up a stockpile of articles so that when things go pear shaped (as they did last year) I have something at the ready when deadline turns up.

Finish up some of the many, many projects I have started. I should be around 80 when I finish. :lol:

This year I am going to finaly going to get the courage to introduce myself and start posting on the site, opps looks like I have just done that !!

A big thanks to Wolsely Hornet for telling me about the site and helping to get me signed up.

I run a scally track in the loft which i have been playing about with for 4-5 years, which I call " A run in the countryside".
I'll put some pictures up soon.

This year I also plan to do some scratch building. and to construct an oval stockcar track based on Cowdenbeith raceway in Scotland.
