traction for foam Tires

Started using Trinity Traction or tire tweak as they call it . Followed the directions and this stuff works great . Six of the racers use it here at my track and we all pick up anywhere from 11/2 to 2 tenths in our lap times . It leaves no mess on the tires and it softens the tire for maxium traction plus keeps the tire in good condition when not in use. Place on tires day before the race wipe off before you use the car and you are set for a day of racing.works great on old tires to bring them back where you can use them again...

Be careful. That stuff attacks some types of paint. Trinity also has something called "Sticky Fingers".
Oddly enough there is nothing sticky in it. So far it hasn't hurt any of the paint jobs or plastic.

Been using it for over a month now it has not done anything to the track surface paint or any of my hardbody cars . If you wipe the trinity off the tires before you run the car there is no compound getting on the car because it soaks into the tire.but make sure you wipe it off . I mostly use it on my reality modifieds and it thas not even left a stain on the photo paper they are made of. Thanks for the info on being careful on some painted surfaces

When I raced 1/24th scale commercial raceway cars I used Tire Bite, I still have a few bottles of it hanging around. There are lots of things that will increase the grip of foam tires, but most of those only work for a short time. Stay away from products that contain wintergreen, it is toxic and can attack paint. I have one car with foam tires that I use as a track cleaner. I put a little Tire Bite on the tires and run the car around for a dozen laps, I wipe the tires off and apply more traction compound, then run the car another dozen laps, unless the track is unusually dusty that will be enough to get the track in shape. The quick way to apply the traction compound is to spread a small amount around on a board and roll the tires through that, wipe off any excess with a rag before you put the car on the track.

SPF 40 or higher suntan lotion. Works better than anything I've tried, is safe for your hands, leaves nothing on the track. Rub it in really good, squeezing hard, then blot dry. I brought back a 7 year old pair of Champion rears with this stuff.

Ahhh... if it's sticky -- it's icky ! No messy "glue" on the tires or track, unless you're racin' "wing" cars!
Ask Harry, he knows of a nice clean potion from up north... :>)

Right. Using any type of tire tack will require cleaning the track regularly. Coppertone suntan lotion is what
we used in the early '60s. Basically, I just clean the tires with lighter fluid after each heat.
