In all motorsports the story is the same. It takes backing money for a driver to get a team drive. The driver has to be able to bring funding to the team. That is why there are so many brilliant drivers that will never achieve the full success they deserve while other less talented drivers get to climb the success ladder.
Danica has the extra bonus of being decorative and therefore have extra value to offer the sport. Things would be a little different if she were not so easy on the eye.
Susie Wolff will be the next female driver to race F1 (she's currently test driver for Williams) not only because she has driving talent but her husband is a team shareholder. Note, she's also rather cute for a Scot and will raise the Williams profile regardless of any track success.
