Hoos, you might have more action on this thread if the title had anything to do with the content! :laughing-rolling:
I started driving my mom's '74 Pinto Woody when I turned 16 :violence-stickwhack:
My sole form of transportation from the age of 17 till 20 whe I got out of tech school was a bicycle, then after graduation when I got my first job I saved up some money for the down payment on my frst car. I had narrowed the list to the just released Golf GTI, A Toyota Truck Or a Nissan truck. The GTI was a kick in the pants and i still kind of regret not getting it, bUT I felt i needed something a bit more practical; because I rode bikes allot I wanted something i could just throw my bike in & Go!1
Went to the Toyota dealer, Rode up on my bike. they had a limited edition Mohave truck that year, Gold metallic with ALL the bells and whistles. It sat right in the middle of the showroom floor. I walked in and went straight to it! Five salesspeople watched me! I walked around it for probably 10 minutes and nobody even gave me a second look! Finally I asked the salemen who was standing there how much it was; He told me how much it was then promptly turned around and Walked off! :?: Needless to say, I did not buy the Toyota. Went to the Datson dealer and bought a truck there with almost identical features! That was my first NEW car that I bought.
From that point on I resolved not to buy Toyota's, and I didn't until last week when I bought a Tacoma (31 years later)!!! :auto-driving: And that is partly because my position on Toyota's has changed some, I got a fairly good deal and many manufacturters have stopped making/selling small trucks in the US! :angry-tappingfoot:
