Close Combat - Carrera Ferrari 512s

Postby HomeRacingWorld » Tue Mar 04, 2014 7:23 pm

A package arrived to today from our friend Old Johnny. Inside were two models I did not need to see.

I say that as now having spent time with them, I want more and I am doing that familiar "shoulda coulda woulda" to myself. :violin:

VERY close racing on our track. Not much room for mistakes so maybe I shouldn't race them :) But I can't help it. These models are just fantastic looking and they have plenty of power at 15 volts for our smaller home track.

Most already know Carrera has been making some great efforts in this scale. I have just avoided them lately as I knew what would happen :)

Oh well, we always have room for more slot cars right?

Thanks Johnny. I hope my surprise brings you the same enjoyment.

I bought both when they were released - so far only run the yellow one. I was very pleased with the way it handled straight out of the box, very smooth and predictable.

These cars are modeled better than Fly's Ferrari 512s. Very, very nice. :)

Well Jeremy, sounds like we have a "Jumbo Classic" challenge in the works.

As long as the paint on the fenders means little to you, I say we put this race on the list for the "May Mayhem" visit :)

I have PG's for your 917 on the wall. So they are here if you want them.

But shipping is expensive. You have to pick them up :)

Well I just saw that Ninco makes a Labatts Sierra and FlySlot is making Marlboro cars, oh wait... NSR makes Sandeman 917's so I think we can "lobby" Carrera for this one!

Well Harry,I was done buying cars for a while. That is until we ran Bibbster's 917s..
You know the rest of the story as Paul Harvey would say...Yep bought two and will now have to route another wood track to run them on..............We are running these full on stock and to us they need nothing else.FUN,FUN,FUN.
