I had smoked Camel, Chesterfield and Pell Mell for many years. I did not care for filtered cigarettes.
We bought our first home in 1974 and in an effort to cut down on costs, I started to roll my own cigarettes. I liked the idea as it cost about half or less of what it cost to buy them. After rolling them, I would put them into a plastic case that you would put a pack of cigarettes in, plus a book of matches to keep them from getting crushed in your shirt pocket.
Well I was in the large telephone switching business for many years. I did installation, field service and later on development work.
One day I was working in the Federal Building in Tampa, Florida. We decided to take a break in the break room, also known as the snack bar. That was the only place you could smoke in the building. I did not realize it at the time as my back was to them, but a group of FBI agents were sitting at the table behind me. When I took out my plastic box with hand rolled smokes in them and lit one up, my buddy told me they all got very big eyes all of a sudden and they were all taking deep breaths simultaneously. Not one of them came over and asked any questions, but I'm sure they sure did want to.
