The General spoils again...Good eats

Locoracer Tom finally got a day off and The General decided to hopefully give him a nice treat.

She found some decent cuts at the local shop. I rubbed them down and let them "talk to each other" in a sealed bag for the day.

Took them out a couple hours before to let them get up to temp...then sizzle time.

Flip time. So far so good. I hope I don't goof this one up.

Seem to be ok. The Gen did up some cheesy taters and some garlic butter rolls.

Tom and Dr. Noble seem pretty happy. It was good eating. They are still chewing so I think we did ok.

Fun times.

My indigestion kicked into high gear just looking at all that good food.

If it tasted only half as good as it looked, well it was danged good!

Better than what I ate! My wife gets into the mood for British food every now and then, and I made her an Old English Roast Beef Pie, which is like a pot pie made of shredded pot roast but it only has a roof, no sides on the pastry. I make it in an iron skillet with peas, onions, potatoes, parsley and lots of sauce. Its seasoned with lots of thyme, cinnamon, and ginger, and it isn't a favorite of mine. The recipe goes back about five generations to the closest of her English ancestors. She only asks for it every few years, so I can take it. But I don't like it. At least it isn't haggis. Her people came from Scotland, too. I keep telling her to eat like her French or German ancestors. If she ever tasted the foods from all the places her folks were from, I bet the English foods wouldn't be her favorites, with French and Germans in the group.
