In Search Of a Lola T70 MK-III Body

Postby Florida_Slotter » Mon Mar 31, 2014 7:51 am

I am continuing to build my Can-Am type of inventory. I am trying to use Slot.It or convert another manufacturer to Slot.It running gear, such as the HRS2 chassis.

My Revell-Monogram Lola T70 Spyder now has an HRS2 chassis under it and it runs very well.

The Revell-Monogram McLaren M6A of mine now has a Slot.It McLaren M8 chassis under it. It too runs quite well.

I have a Fly Porsche 917-10 that has an HRS2 chassis under it and it runs just like the others.

There is an MRRC Chaparral 2F with another HRS2 chassis under it.

All of these are in addition to my Slot.It Classics that include a Ferrari 312PB, Chaparral 2E, Alfa T33/3, McLaren M8D and a couple Ford GT40s.

But missing is one of the most iconic of the coupes that raced back then, the Lola T70 Mk-III.

If you have a body - does not need to be pristine - that is just sitting there in your parts box that you wish to sell, please let me know.

Thanks.

I'm no help for a loose body. Its one of my favorites and I would have put a chassis under a loose body as soon as I found it. But at one time, I had a resin body kit for one that I never got around to building. I only remember it because it was expensive and I felt silly for buying it and never building it. If you don't find one that is loose, we could look this thing up to see what its worth, and see if you want it.

Holy cats! Marty, are you rich? I just looked at the online shops for this kit (Top Slots #10) and found that they were $50 or so in 2008, and $100-$112 today, and there aren't many of them. I'll still sell it, but good grief, I wasn't looking for this to show up. I will say it is a very high quality kit, complete with windows, details and Sunoco decals that are metallic gold pinstriped. The sticker ($45), is still on it, and I suspect I must have bought it sometime around 2006 or so.

Harry,

Never a problem sir. We all have so much that we're doing that stuff does fall between the cracks. I thank you for offering.

But I have been offered one and I hope to receive it later this week, then parts will be ordered to do the build. I might even take some photos and do a build article on this.

My Revell-Monogram Lola T70 Spyder body that is mounted on an HRS2 chassis is a rocket ship. I'm just hoping to add another rocket to the arsenal.

I'll keep you informed.

Thanks for checking.
