Well, I know it may seem like it's been all quiet @ the Blasto-O racing garage, but there has actually been stuff going on! I really have a 1/2 dozen builds, some old trying to get done & some new!
Last night while trying to find something I stumbled on this Artin! It's a Supra & (Bonus) it looks to be real close to scale with accurate body lines! Well inspiration took hold and I immediately started trying to source a suitable chassis; the Artin that was on there did want to work & none of my favorites (SCX DTM) were going to work either, I finally thought I would go with one of the many Ranch chassis I have waiting for a home. Then this mroning I thought this might be a great opportunty to use Peters printed chassis!!!!

will need some measurements, so.
Did you get pictures? Maybe i have that car and can measure it by myself?

1) Boxer motor chassis? motorpod?
2) chassis using carrera/scx parts
3) FF030 chassis with motorpod?

Hi Mas,
i´m using the front and rear axle tubes for centering of the axles.
Especially on the rear, this helps for centering the crown gear and will help the wear of the crown a little, plus it can be easier adjusted.

The Boxer-Pod chassis has a minimum width of 32mm, so your 33mm are no problem :)

i was thinking maybe you could leave the sides and axle tubes a little wide then i could trim them down as needed.
Is this a standard file or did you manipulate it? Is it on Shapeways?

I think I have @ least two cars that fit this same basic measurement (M1 too) So I might do more then one. What axle Size? I typically use the smaller size axle.

just let me know the measurements and i can adjust the chassis!
I have to do the adjustments on my laptop and upload the changed files to shapeways, with a name that you can recognizw as your project.

The chassis will accept 0.085" axles and 0.093" axles. I also use the smaller 0,085" axles. Beware: you will have to drill out the axles holes with a drill bit!
i have also used brass tube with 0,093" inner diameter as a metall bearing. Fits not too bad for the smaller axles, but really nice for the bigger ones (like Kyosho).

trimming the axle tubes works good, but i prefer to do the measuring in front, in this way i don´t have to take care of it later. i tend to take away only very small amounts and measure a lot. Been taking away too much too often and now i tend to do very small cuts. But it takes time in this way, but at least it will work out in the end.

Well, Peter I do not know the measurements, because I would need to get my hands on the wheels and tires I am using and I have not located them yet, Sooo . . . .

Anywayz, I am really excited to get these and I think I may well order one or two of Datto's Chassis While I am @ it!

OH While I am @ it is one of these the Chassis you used for your Lancia Beta? Which one?

the Lancia had a scratchbuilt styrene chassis, but all of the chassis above would have worked, too!
A boxer motor is fitted in the Lancia, so it would be the same chassis as i customed for the body from post #1.

Thanks, Peter, an order for three chassis will be coming to Shapeways as soon as the CFO of the Nerf Fab Shoppe approves my P.O.
I think I'll try the Stevens Intertnational 11mm wheel/tire combo before I look elswhere. Securing the HO gears and axles may be another venture.
