C.B. Design wheels/Slot.it axles

I want to be clear on my previous post; I really like the CBDesign wheels; I have no complaints with them at all. In fact, I wish that they'd make them in a few more designs. I get great, no wobble, results every time that I use them and, as Dickie can tell you, that's pretty often.................... :D

All good info here. I've had to resort to the sanding trick a few times. Either way, still the best wheels I've ever used.

The tolerances are so close on those wheels (by design) that the slightest difference in the axle diameter can cause what has been described.

I use ejector pins for my axles, they are .0005 under 3\32, perfect size everytime
a 10" pin is like $4.00

Ejector pins can be found at McMaster-Carr and MSC.
Reamer size you want is .0937 as good axles are .0935 to fit 3/32 ball bearings.

After an abrasive treatment like sanding/reaming don't the parts have to be polished smooth again?

By the way, save the ends (heads). If you leave enough on the end you can use them for independent front wheel configurations.

I'm in the process of building out a series of cars that use the CBD 5 spoke racing wheels. So far, I have not had a fitment problem with any of the wheels in this series (15x8 or 15x11); as opposed to what I often times find with the insert wheels. All of my Slot.It 54mm axles work OK: very snug, but OK; including those that I was ready to discard due to the fact that they would not fit any of the CBD insert wheels...........................

My 3/32" wheel reamer and handle arrived from SCC on Friday! So, I'm ready for anything at this point........................
