This week I saw two cars listed on ebay that I liked so I put in a bid on both. They were both bids well below what I figure they are worth and didn't expect to win either. So now I am the proud owner of two new cars that I really didn't need and only mildly wanted. I think I have ebay disease.

What are they?

One is the JK direct drive 1/32 slot car and the other is a Fly Racing Corvette C5R. I got them for under $35 each. I will probably check them both out before I decide whether or not I really want to keep them.

That doesn't sound as bad as a certain recent purchase by me, Bob.
I bid on and won 2 star wars thingys. For no other reason than they were really cheap. Yes I did, really !!!!
I figured they might me good for kids or at the very worst to pull the guts out of them and use the bits.

They'll probably be good for nothing except for you other blokes (and girls) to have a good giggle at my complete inability to make sensible decisions.

The JK direct drive cars suffer from a bad lack of brakes, as would be expected, but they are very smooth and quiet.

If the Fly Corvette is like the other Racing versions, it should be pretty nIce.

Bob, your probably correct on all counts but when I saw them I was sort of intrigued and since I run an oval they may be suited to my track. At any rate you might be able to adapt a body and have some fun with it.....

I feel your pain and I even raise the stakes for you: 9 cars, 5 professor motor controllers and a new slot car box in the last two weeks. I bid on a box that contained 5 fly cars including a very rare Porsche 917, 2 professor motor controllers, a bunch of parts and the box. My bid was at or near the value of the Porsche; never thought I would get it. The thing was the way the guy had the stuff listed it didn't show up in the slot car section, I found it purely by chance.

Well, I won it. Now I don't know what to do with all of it. One of the controllers is brand new in the packaging for Ninco track. I don't even own any Ninco track AARRGH.

I need to start selling my stuff on the bay. I'm now up over 300 cars and I don't even know how many controllers of various configurations I have.

Maybe we need to start an ebay and slot car anonymous support group :violin: .

I'd buy one of the PM controllers if I didn't already have my Scorpius wireless. I like them a lot for 1/32 cars.

OK, I haven't bid on or bought anything on ebay for almost a week now. Could be because I know money is tight this month. My SSD check comes on the third Wednesday which this month is the 21st, the latest day it could be.
