Ok Chef's, what's cooking today?

So anyone doing some special cooking for the ladies today?

I have baby back ribs that have marinated a couple days. Will slow roll those these in the smoker for about 7 hours. Also picked up some Sugardale sausages and a special steak for The General.

Plus a baked tater the size of a football :)

Slow cooked St. Louis cut ribs. Some Baby Ray's sauce and all day in the crock pot makes them fantastic. We also got some fresh ears of corn.

It is raining like crazy here and the forecast is calling for a foot of the white stuff later today and into tonight. Yes it is May 11. Yes, everything is green. Yes I have flowers out.

Yep. I got trapped by snow on a two lane mountain highway in the SW corner of Colorado once. It was late June!

Mary Anne wants her favorite meal.
I have a special Chop Steak that I make for her & it's to die for.
There is also a special salad that goes with it.

You should see the smile on her face ... it's priceless.
She can only eat about 1/2 of it so guess what she having for breakfast tomorrow? ? ?

Most likely salad of mixed greens, simple pizza (margherita) and steamed kale.

His Lordship and I took both mothers out for lunch yesterday. Just to one of the little pubs in a tiny neighbouring town, nothing flash. Good simple fare and way too much on my plate. After a short wander along the river to let the food go down, back into the car for a drive around some of the places of their earlier years. Just a shame we couldn't find my great grandfather's farm at Glenaurchie.

My wife finally gave me her choice for Mom's Day Dinner... Low Country Crab Cakes with a sweet, hot, creamed mustard sauce, spinach souffle, riced German potatoes, and frozen pina colada for dessert. Gotta go get busy!

A triumph! A little frustrating in that my tongue is still messed up from the Bell's Palsy so everything tastes odd, but I am assured by all present that these were among my best (a relief), I hate flying blind about cooking. Anyway, its done now, and I'm going to go flop in a chair, as god intended- verily I say unto you, this is the word of the lard.
