Depends on the Scalex car in question, we've gone through the variation straight out of the box with mag strengths etc, the earlier mustangs and Camaros were a lot more stuck down than the later variants. But i'd say straight out of the box as a rule the pioneer Trans Ams are quicker on plastic. ( But that's not always the most fun is it ?)
The other thing about the Pioneers that I like, is that they all use the same chassis on all the T/A cars which solves parity. So in theory whatever the car, if you do the same tune up, or toss the mags or whatever, they should still remain equalish.
But once you get onto wood I think the scaleys have the edge, in my case.
I think driver ability tuning differences and other factors probably influence things more.
I like them all and if I had to chose one brand over the other. I just couldn't.
I must agree with Fab's about scale accuracy, I think Pioneer have the edge. But then I believe that they're slotcars first and scale models second.
