Long time no speak, Ive been in hibernation. Jeremy Ive been buying vinyl for over 20 years now since I got my first job during school, I never got into cds. Do your self a favour & buy a turntable that you can change the cartridge on or one with a removable headshell. Usually these turntables are of better quality & are gentler on your precious vinyl. There are plenty of bargains to be had on decent turntables. Most of the time people stopped using there turntable as they needed a new needle, so alls that needed is a new needle & off you go. The only direct drives worth buying are Technics, otherwise stick to belt driven. I prefer belt driven but thats just me. The best turntables are belt driven :) Buy a decent table & when funds permit change the cartridge over to something nice. For $100 these days you can get a sweet sounding cartridge & needle. You will be surprised how good vinyl can sound.
Im so surprised that vinyl is in fashion again. As i said Ive been buying vinyl for a over 20 years so I have a sizeable collection now. I wonder how long this fad will last. Good luck with your hunt & keep us posted. If you need any advice on particular turntables let me know & will be happy to help.
