I always liked the Marlin. Not so much the other sporty AMCs, but the Marlin just looked like a great touring and sightseeing car to me.

Car number 14 in the last picture is driven by a friend of mine named Dick van Laanen from Van Nuys. The shot was taken in 1951. He raced until 1955 when he flipped his Special at Santa Barbara and went end over end. He decided insurance sales was better and opened up his own branch of State Farm. He retired this year.

Did anyone notice the old Stinson aircraft in the background of this shot? Wow! Wait 'til Sarge sees this!

Waytoo, I noticed the Stinson (thought it was a Tri-Pacer at first glance) and also the WWII "mob" barracks as well. Spent a bit of time around those during my career.

Shame on the person that did that to an MG!! :scared-eek:

The red and white Devin Panhard was in my vintage racing group for many years. Interesting car.
