Tri or D Oval suggestions.

We may have a new track in the making. Looking for ideas and what has worked well for you guys.
Banked turns, flat turns, squeeze? Track will be around 18x7.

I have to agree that a track like Pocono would really be fun to race on. 3 diff corners would absolutely make for exciting/challenging racing! :dance:

Another option is an oval kinked toward the center for some left/right action.

Norb...thanks for throwing that out there....this is going to be interesting . I like the D-oval and the Pocono...lets see if we can get any views on Squeezes and more oval options.. this is great and I love the input...cmon guys jump in .

Since you have a great oval already that is a straight design...why not change it up?

Try the tri-oval idea perhaps? See if it fits the space?

I built a tri-oval back awhile ago...

Mine was 16' long, and I recall 9' at the widest spot.



The end turns had normal lane spacing (3 1/2"), while in the D section, I squeezed the inner lanes towards the outside lanes. This not only made the inside lanes a bit longer, but also gave them a tighter radius which meant they had to back off a bit more than the outside lane. This even up the racing, and the outside lane could keep up with those on the inside. Also made for some great action in the turn, as there was a LOT of rubbing happening :auto-driving:

No squeezes for me thank you. I race on two different tracks that have them. They create an unnecessary hazard IMHO.
