Hey, don't take it the wrong way, as I'm not really Leaving the 1/43 - I'm just not pursuing it with the Vigor I do with HO. After-all, the only person I will be racing 1/43 with is my GF and/or her grandson. I got enthused at first, but after a while I saw how much work to get the cars I thought were cool, and the limits of 1/43, in both a time and money spent, as this was supposed to be a cheap sidetrack. Heck, I haven't even been able to get decent replacement tires yet for my Artin and Mattel cars.
I love slotcars, but can only devote my time and money resources on one scale with any vigor. This 1/43 venture all started because I got a ton of cars(22 of them now) and track sets all for around $40 this year....and my GF's Grandson is interested in racing, but at 7 years old, I don't feel is mature enough to race my non magnet HO cars, so cheap 1/43 racing seemed like the answer...and it is- to a point. MY problem is, I got carried away....and I cannot let myself get into another scale like the way I'm into HO. If I was rich and would live to 100 years old, then maybe I could do it, but for now, I'll just be rippin and tearing the cheaper OEM Chinese stuff, until the kid loses interest, or graduates up a notch to HO.

I'll still be here checkin' out your scale, but I cannot devote the time and money to it like I wish I could....sorry.

PS- oh one last thing, like this original thread was askin....if anyone can build me a cheap chassis that has a 2 - 13/16" wheelbase, and could sell it to me for say around $10... I'd really appreciate it. And at least could have one cool looking car to parade lap around with. :text-thankyouyellow:

Well, Ralph, you inadvertently hit the nail on the head; thing is people in 1/43 should not have to "move up" to anything! Lateral moves are OK, But as long as 1/43 is a step down it can never Step UP as a scale and stand on it's own.

I personally feel like HO is too small and the cars move so fast that I can't really enjoy them (even though I have about a Hundred of'em  ); I love 1/32, but it conversely is just a little on the big side for most people to have a respectable track @ home. 1/43 occupies that space in-between and has so much potential that it just drives me crazy when manufacturers miss the mark, either intentionally (Carrera) or unintentionally (SCX, Kyosho)!

1/43 on the side? OK I am cool with that! I think that's how we have to work it anyways, too many people I know say "I have too much invested in 1/32/HO to move to 1/43"! OK well I have tons of both of those and I Jumped!???

I guess there's not too many sloters out there who will Pinch their nose between their fingers, close their eyes and take the leap of faith I did! That does not mean you can't dabble with 1/43 on the side, simply add it to the mix and enjoy it. If everybody in other scales bought one Kyosho even as a shelf queen it might A ) Help other slotters out and B ) Be worth a bunch of money one day!

Masmojo, let me add, that I don't like, nor do I race, super fast HO either. I do own about 100 inline HO cars, and 3/4 of them are magnet cars, but I don't race those, they are just shelf queen/collectibles. What I do run, and modify and Race, are Pancake cars, and of those, I prefer the good old T-Jets, and I mean the original type, not those Auto World Ultra G's !
As for speeds, I note that my T-jets run about the same speeds as my 1/43 Artin cars, 'cept the T-Jets Drift in the curves, while my 1/43's can only drift so far, before they lose contact with the rails or wipe out...like the Neo Magnet Fast Lanes do when they finally let lose.
Anyway.... I'm still in the HUNT for a ready built 2-13/16" 1/43 Chassis, and it doesn't need to have axles/gears/wheels or motor, as I can supply my own.... I just don't have the time or inclination to slice and dice right now, as I'm pretty busy, and my free time is devoted to either HO building, HO Racing, or 1/43 racing for limited periods. :)

Ralph, I would really suggest you pick up a Kyosho, or at the very least a SCX Compact, they drift properly and much better (with magnet removed) then ANY HO car can!

Then maybe you can understand My/Our frustrations!

Ralph I have or had some of those old Tyco's and they are great, but I am somewhat doubtful that the can out-drift a no mag 1/32 car, Ninco Classic's like the Jaguar's and Healy's can dish out some pretty lurid slides!

Also Scalextric has made quite a few cars that can turn a full 180degress and with the large size and longer wheelbase they are really just made for that! Then a couple/few years ago they had some actual cars marketed as DRIFT cars, so that was pretty much what thy are made to do!

Some of the longer wheelbase Kyosho's like the Aston's and Corvettes, would slide VERY well on my routed (no mag) track!

Just saying, if you have not tried them, you might be missing something!? ;)

Hey Ol Mike, so how much is T R U and/or Fast Lane PAYING you to Advertise their product ?! And do you think your replies really address my original Post  Which I tried to express right from the git go my desires, and what I didn't want to do.
Hey, I did buy a pair of Fast Lane cars for $4.99/pr. and find them a real bargain, for what they are... But they are not what I want, either to modify, or run with their Neo Traction magnet. Besides the fact I do not care for non American Body styles....no direspect to the non-americans on this board, it's just my preference. :twocents-mytwocents:

And ANOTHER Pointless reply from Ol Mike. Dude, if you cannot contribute to this thread with a simple answer, to help me find a certain WB chassis I was looking for, then Please Refrain from posting in my thread, thank you.
And FYI- I'm not a slot Newbie, just to 1/43 scale....which I don't intend to invest much money into, nor waste time cutting up and piecing together FAST LANE Chassis !
So far I have Now accumulated 26 Cars, and 5 sets(some in original Box), and I have spent less than $50. I actually want to STOP buying cars and sets, but every time I go to a Yard Sale of Flea Market, there'a another car for $1.00 or a whole set for $4.00 ! So I can't help but pick up the stuff for pennies, as it's all going to my GF's Grandkid, save for a couple of cars I'm keeping for myself. Hell, I recently even picked up a vintage Fast Lane car(w/American style Nascar body) with the flat ceramic magnet, which I enjoy running alot better than the new ones with Neo Magnets and Foreign Car bodies.
Anyway, I'm now looking for a Vintage Carrera Go Chassis- old style F1 (-2005)....and then I'll finish my Jalopy and be done with Custom 1/43 projects, and just race 'em with the kid and GF..

Ralph I just went and measured my F1 collection and it appears that you are looking for any of the Ferrari's. I measured about a doz. of them and it seems that Carrera is trying to be somewhat scale correct, as they are different lengths for different marque's. Are you looking for a running car or just a chassis?
