New "Resin Dude" Late Model Mod body

Postby TuscoTodd » Sat Oct 04, 2014 12:18 pm

Picked up a couple bodies from Resin Dude to use for t-jet racing:

I didn't snap a "before" picture - but thought that I would share some progress shots as it is coming along nicely!
This is the body I started with:

I opened up the rear of the body to simulate the cars that run here locally and at the same time help the overall handling characteristics. For reference, the piece removed was .060" thick and with that being behind the rear wheels (weighed .2gr), promoted a much "looser" handling car than I cared for.

Here are a couple shots after sanding, priming and applying a base coat of Dupli-Color BGM0533 Bahama Blue Metallic...

And here are a couple shots after applying some decals from a Miller Lite decal sheet from the local track:

After the decals dry, it will be on to clear coat and then finishing off minor details like painting the air cleaner, adding windshield, etc - but I like how it is coming along. :)

You know, with the explosion of HO here, I might have to drag my few out to run. Nice work on the MOD!

Wayne - I think you will like what you see based on the ones I picked up! ('55 chevy, late model mod and sprint car kit)
This is the first one that I am getting painted up - but looking forward to working on the others! :D
