TGIF - Having Fun

Postby HomeRacingWorld » Fri Oct 10, 2014 3:19 pm

What a week! And finally Friday! Ok..been Friday all day.

Just busy and then Locoracer Tom showed up and we have been tinkering with old classics all afternoon.

The latest news keeps coming and doing my best to keep up. As some of you know, trying to follow all the brands is not easy anymore...too much stuff :) On top of that some manufactures websites are woefully out of date. You are more likely to see it on Facebook or a pay per view site first. Or maybe even right here at little old HRW. Yes, have some big news brewing and cannot wait to share it with you.

But I have to wait. :scared-eek:

Thanks to all that have been lending a hand to those new to the forum and our hobby. Getting a LOT of good feedback lately and it's because you folks are the best in our hobby.

More reviews, articles and product announcements coming next week. Something for everyone I think. From tips and tuning hints for the intermediate enthusiasts, product testing for you veterans, and of course our usual news for the newcomer.

As much as we want to help the newcomer, we also need to help those that have been around for awhile.

The weather is wet and cool so perfect time for a Crock pot full of chili and some time in the old Skunkworks. Hope all of you have a great weekend. :flags-waveusa:

Just came in from staining our front porch/deck. Had to do it before it got any colder as it looks like we'll probably be here till Spring  . Been working on a few things in my dungeon: adding weight to my Fun Run Galaxie, working on a Strom Testa Rossa and my George Turner King Cobra. Still working part-time helps.....I get some spending money and get to go to work and rest! :?

Looks like we have a fine Saturday here. So some paint will be sprayed. Yay! And possibly some more paint. :)

Been spending the last few evenings sitting in the dying sun sanding away on an old Lotus 24. Got to make some adjustments to it's intakes.

Then tomorrow it's beers and munchies in front of the telly for the Great Race. Yup... Bathurst 1000 tomorrow.

Last hurrah for Ford works cars. They've pulled the pin from the end of this year. Client cars will run til end of 2015. Then the red vs blue battle is history.

Yes TGIF!! Weekend off and staying inside in the air condition both days. Have two sets of tires to glue and true and two chassis to assemble. Maybe just maybe get a bit done on Da Roadster.

along with getting my torino ready for the nascar fun run, I've been taking this to work with me lately and working on it in my not so busy times. It is a FORD, so should be ok  going to be a late model version of a 70 mustang. Modeled from the Neil Bonnett driven car. A good competitor for the camaro I hope. Still a ways to go, but there`s no rush.

I'm still working in some projects that have been neglected way too long. It's rainy and cool so I'll have plenty of time to work on them. :)

We had a typical gorgeous Colorado Fall day here so I took a nice hike with the fetching Mrs. Reinecke.

I poured some resin orders and primed the 1966 Chevelle. I'll wet-sand it during the Broncos game tomorrow so I can get it slick and into a mold this week for it's re-release.

I drove north and visited Colpar Hobbies in Denver. It was my first time to the new store and it is massive! They have a HUGE Carrera layout in the basement too. It was very nice seeing Tom Dolan there as I haven't gotten to visit him in a long time.

I picked up a can of Big Bad Blue for a project I've wanted to finish for about 3 years and the new Slot.it McLaren M8 Vic Elford car. WOW! This thing is really nice!!!

I should be able to qualify the Mavericks by Tuesday if all goes well too!
