This afternoon, working on my multiscale oval track (1/32 4lanes artin), I tried again a SCX compact cot, with no modifications except magnet removed, and unique braid instead of the usual SCX double braid. I just lowered the voltage, and the car was great to run. Smooth, quiet, and predictable, especially with 60ohm controller (but still OK with parma 45ohm).
I'm pretty sure that with a bit of work (just a bit of weight, trueing the tires, modifying the slide guide post), I will have really good racers, even compared to my 1/32 cars. Not speaking of possible urethane tires too ! They will be perfect loan vehicles for my racing sessions with casual/beginners, and with lower voltage, on the big 1/32 scale oval track, the 1/43 COT stockers seems to be perfect scale !
My point is no matter the scale, as long as cars are available, a scale is never finished.
