GVSCC Targa Florio Proxy

Did a test Paint job on one of my Caterham's for the up coming GVSCC Proxy, this scheme will be on the Full fendered version Chappy is sending me. Makes a reasonable good copy of the 1;1 car i am modeling after. Scaley wheels on this one will be replaced with Racer wires on the actual proxy car. I am liking it so far.

Looking good, Bob. Nice to see some variety in the entries.

I haven't been able to give any updates on this, as I am away from home with just my iPad. I will update about a week from now when I get back.

Looking good Bob, I can just see it screaming up the grind. Sun glinting off the polished aluminum.
I went on the GVSCC site and had a look at the tracks and particularly the Grind.
whoa its going to be a challenge. The site says 140 fit up and back down, current record about 19 secs.
And it has sector timing too, but an off could be a long drop. Then saw Lufs Targa, whoa again lots of curvey bits, have to stay out of the weeds there. The other tracks shown are equally testing but with a few straight bits
..
Keith as a group who hasnt ran any of these tracks, what is the suggested gearing from the locals that will be competing .

Chappy, I'd try 8:36. You're gonna need brakes! I know; it's a radical gearing suggestion, but the hillclimb is a radical course........... :lol:

BTW - All things go better with Sam Adams Summer Ale.................! :mrgreen:

Also BTW, your ROAR cars are going to be on the same hillclimb about a month before your GVSCC car hits it....................!

Radical is right Allan, but it may be the case.
Having looked at a couple of the other tracks there is some with straights that would have the 8x36 screaming.
What ever happened to those quick change gearboxes lol
I dont think my Jag or Vette will be braking hard on the Grind, but finding the happy medium might be tricky.
But tons of fun .

Looks good Keith.
Still building away, but I butchered the headlight lenses. I will have to make a mold and do some up.
My mini vac former should do the job. Tried the old fake nails, but didnt look right.

The list is now an attachment to the last post on the first page. I think I have your info correct. I am having trouble with my wifi in my Mac, and just using my iPad which is a pain for typing. I will be making some updates and more track info as soon as I get it fixed.
