Right! I'm actually thinking about a brass chassis for this one (see, you guys are a bad influence on me............... :naughty: ); forward mounted FF-050 slim can motor with a driveshaft going to the crown gear on the rear axle. Should be interesting rigging the bushing for the driveshaft.............! I'd like to squeeze an FC-130 in to the front (if it will fit), we'll have to see on that one, too. Then there's that thing about wheels and tires............................O-rings........here I come! :lol: But where can I find wheels that fit the O-rings?

Allan: As I read through this thread and came across your Wasp pics, I thought O rings. I then read on and saw everyone else had the same idea.

Wheels? Do you have a mini lathe? With the lack of detail on the wheels they should be easy to make. No Lathe? What better excuse than this for buying one, eh?

There are people out there who make wheels for slot cars, even custom sizes. Steve, at Ranch Design comes to mind. Worth investigating.

Tires? If you find the right size of the thickest O ring to fit your wheels. I know a local urethane tire maker who could cast you some in urethane and then you could glue them to your wheels and true and flatten the tread on a Razor. As long as the O rings are not silicone, it would work. If they were silicone, they would seal to the silicone mould in one solid mass.

Let me know if you need my help on this.

Knowing how well you build cars, I see a concours winner in the making, even if it can't compete on track with roadsters, turbos, and Smokey Harry's side pod car.

Thanks, Keith. I'm still mulling over how to proceed with this car. A lot to consider for a car like this; racing a car that by more modern standards wouldn't even be considered a "race car"............ :D

15x7 wheels/tires could be another possibility................we'll see.........I can hardly wait to work on the guide height adjustment............. :lol:

Another thought on wheels/tires...
How about the wheels/tires that come on the Carrera streamliner cars like below?



You could fill in the wire wheel portion and end up with much taller / skinnier wheel/tire combo than what is typically available as 1/32 (or if you need even taller - there is the 1/24 scale version from Carrera as well)
Just another though... :)

Thanks, Todd. Those wheels/tires look very good from a scale perspective and converting them to discs might not be too hard.

In poking around - it looks as though they are relatively inexpensive as a well via LEB Hobbie, etc too! :D
