HRW 2016 Can Am build

Hello folks, I know it is a way off, but having decided on a body for the 2016 Can Am proxy, I couldn't wait to start playing with chassis designs/builds. I will be using a vintage Aurora 1/32 McLaren M12 ( known for some reason by Aurora as the "XLR".......likely a licensing issue).

As this was designed/built in 1968 (for the 1969 season), I have decided to build an inline chassis, as at this time (1968), the inline cars still pretty much ruled the roost (except for Roy Moody/Gene Husting.....but this is for another post). Anyway, I think that an inline will be a nice "period correct" piece, although it likely won't have the ultimate performance of a sidewinder.......but then, the honking great Can Am cars were not really about "refined" performance.

To fit the period, the chassis has also been designed to fit a Flat 6, as cubic inches ruled the day

It is a really straightforward design, and, like the early Can Am cars will rely on big rubber/big motor :dance:

Really I know I can never reach the benchmark you set, but your skills certainly make me try harder and raise my efforts in learning and execution.

Seriously, that is one nice looking chassis. I think that an inline with a big motor could be a deadly combination. Looking forward to seeing your car progress.

Is that motor bracket commercially available, or do you build your own?

Man you guys are killing me with your builds.
With myself going in and out of the hospital and moving and being laid off I can't get in on any of the fun you all are having.
Let alone get my tracks built and get some cars and try and build a couple of those brass chassie you all build.
Your build has to be one of the nicest ones I've seen you sir are among the top tier builders, I can't wait to get all these headaches behind me so I can get going on this great hobby of ours once again.
