No problem except the availability of 18K slim cans. The only 050 I could find in Robert Livingston's motor list between 15K and 20K was the M/T SL-2 at 18K (actually tested higher) and it is no longer produced. These motors have very low torque, but that is probably ok on an oval. Sort of like Nascar restrictor plate racing, eh?

Keith - I am using a Scaley slim can - it is factory rated at 18k.
(not sure if that helps - but they are readily available - easy to find)

Guy's, The Carrera motor is readily available also, and make a brisk runner in these little cars.

And on the tire issue, the PG 21073, or 21083 will stretch over the 17x 11 insert wheel, and the outer edge of the rim can be turned down using a drill motor and a Dremel if you don't have a tire razor. Its a great look with these tires, and they can be profiled to give that Balloon tire look also, in my opinion.

Well, the kits have arrived from our French resin body supplier. Unfortunately, they're both a little underscale; more like 1/40th scale; so they're little cars. I'll fix the Auto Union car by replacing it with a George Turner model. The Wasp will probably have to remain as it is now. It will definitely be the smallest car on the starting grid. Let's see........what to use to power a 1/40th scale, narrow body, skinny tire car? I'm thinking <10k FF-050.....,

Im glad you mentioned that Allan, also sorry it cost you to find out.
I see on the bay he advertises all his stuff as 32 scale, so good to know.
Just a thought but will an MT slimline fit on its side into the wasp.
with tire height , clearance shouldnt be an issue, and the cog in the center and
a bit higher may just be the ticket to grip on that skinny stinger.

I was thinking the same thing this morning, Bod, as I looked the chassis over. I think a 90 degree turn on a slimline motor might just do the trick. It will have to be a front-motored/driveshaft car, though. Definitely a brass chassis......... More challenges..................

I think I found the dimensions; indirectly. There is a very accurate 1/8 scale metal model that is 24" long, 9" wide and 7.75" high. That translates at 1/32 scale to 6" long, 2.25" wide and 1.93" high. I'll check the length measurement right now.

Well, the body and associated parts are 4 1/2 " long; maybe up to 5" if you allow for the fact that the front wheels extend well forward past the body. But even at 4.8", that's only 1/40th sale. So, it's a small body. Perhaps I could call it the "Marmon Waspette". I'm not sure if it's buildable at that scale.............
