Bob,
You seem to have a handle on getting well. Stick with it.
I was just talking to my tack manager about how long I will be able to drag my track around. It now takes me a whole day to recover from a day setting up and running my track for 3 - 4 hours. At 68 I just don't get around like I used to.
I have been thinking about what to do with the Artin runners and the cases of cars the kids don't get to play with. Who will want to carry on? It scares the hell out of me to think of giving my beloved track to someone who really doesn't have a passion for making kids happy.
Just to show you how crazy I am, I just purchased a new track. An Anki Overdrive track with expansion pieces.
Just hang in and don't ever give up. What would we do if Teddy Rosevelt didn't charge up San Juan Hill? If Ben Casey didn't save his patient. If Lassie didn't tell anyone Timmy fell down the well?
See, now you have me regressing...

Bob - First, I'm glad you are doing better and am sorry to hear you've had to go through this. See, more salads people! Seriously, I'm really glad you are on the mend and can't imagine how scary that must have been.

Second - I'll echo Kevin - they are simply toy cars. If I had a proxy car and something happened to a host, the last thing I'd be thinking about is my car.

On that note, get a will done. We've had one for almost 15 years and actually just had it re-done last month now that the kids are both out of the house. Sure, the toys have to go somewhere and I've got a list of who gets what, but more importantly are things that you just don't want the State deciding for you. It will also shortcut "most" of the family issues where siblings perhaps aren't the best of friends. I also recommend a durable, medical power of attorney as well as a DNR if that's your preference.

Enough depressing thoughts - JUST GET WELL AND STOP USING THIS AS AN EXCUSE TO NOT BUILD CARS!!!

Just kidding.

Hi Bob this is your older brother Bob here.
Life throws a lot of curve balls at us, and some we hit out of the park others we arent so great on.
But you always protect the plate . So in the big picture Its only toy cars. Not a life altering thing you should even woryy about.
Not a single person on this site would be worried about their toy cars over your health and continuing on the forum with us. Im sorry I got to this party a bit late, butmI'm here now and I dont care about toy cars or money . I care about you. Plain and simple. This home that Harry built for our big family is not just about toy cars, its about all of us helping and sharing and being there for each other.
So listen up brother Bob, you get well, and keep us posted andnif you need anything you just let us know. We've got you covered. Just like you had us covered when we needed you.
So hang tight Young Bob and eventually we will get back to toy cars.

Wow Bob, This is the first I've heard. I'm glad that you are on the mend. I think those minor heart attacks are like warning shots over the bow. Ya gotta heed them. At 63, I am thinking about those kind of things too. I've told my wife that 2016 was the year that I unload a lot of junk that I don't need around here. I don't want to leave it for her to deal with in case I can't. Take it easy for awhile sir. We all want to keep you around for a long time to come.

I had to do a will years ago when I went to Venezuela on a building project. I found that I was more careful with everything I did because that will was on my mind. Only a little part of the project was in the bush, nearly all of it was at higher elevations that didn't have the danger of disease or deadly critters. But building is a little more dangerous in situations like that, so there was cause for caution. I have wondered if avoided injuries others got because that will was on my mind.

Just concentrate on actively getting well, Bob.
Make the lifestyle changes you need to make while the fright of gazing into the abyss is still fresh - and don't worry about people's toy cars.
(I write from experience of these things - nearly ten years ago).
All the best,

David.

Just a thought, but those fine folks at SCC have a nice database you could track your cars and leave that for your significant other to check. Just a thought.
