Yes they do. They are all from the Isle of Man and have similar chassis and bodies. They sent me a body as a gift, which I really appreciate. It is resin with a very fine fiberglass mat in it. Very light, but strong. Fortunately for me, there is not much filing or sanding required, as I hate the itch from tiny specks of fiberglass.

Keith can you weight that body. I'm curious how heavy it is?

It is just under 12 grams. By comparison, a Munter resin Osca MT4 body on my desk is just under 15g, a 48 Chevy body is 25g and a Camaro body is about 30g. The Cobra and Osca bodies will not require as much motor as the other two, but they will be for a totally different type of racing.

The cars are here except for two, the qualifying has been run, and even before the first race there is a prize to be won.

Last year Tony Bovard won the prize for the car that travelled the farthest to come to our proxy.. His car came from Australia, but it came second this year.

Using a great circle distance calculator that I found on the web, this year's winner is Russell Sheldon from Sunset Beach near Cape Town, South Africa, which is about 16500 km from Vancouver BC.

Congratulations Russell and thank you for joining us. Thanks to Christian Gingras at Slot Car Corner Canada, a pair of CB Design 15x10 insert wheels will accompany your car on the return home.

I hope to do the Concours judging tomorrow night during our regular Monday night racing. If all goes well, I will be posting those results either tomorrow evening or Tuesday morning.

Another day and more prizes to award. Concours d'Elegance

Tonight I took the bin of cars to our usual Monday night racing along with a supply of ballots that I had printed. Each club member was asked to choose their top five choices in each class and write the numbers on the ballot. I told them to use any method for judging they chose from the pure look of the car to a detailed inspection of the body and chassis. When I got home I tabulated the scores and award the prizes as follows:

Adrian first idea was to make a very nice shiny finish and when job was almost done he dropped it. Car end up with scratches and same second new idea was born. What about after race / barn find livery. He even added some mud around front grill and sides pipes.
And now we have another car to our scrap yard collection.
