I decided against it because these guys were not very familiar with the system in the first place, and the ghost could be pretty brutal if you're not skilled enough to avoid it running through you. Instead of pausing for a crash every single lap, I chose to finish the race instead. I understand that some may not like this, but I feel it was an acceptable compromise given the lack of assistance I was able to muster. As you can see in the video, lane changing and pit strategy did play a role, and in spite of it being only two cars, I feel that the nature of digital was well represented.
This was NOT my ideal running of the proxy. But, this is, after all, the FIRST digital proxy. Sadly, even my digital club had little to no interest in helping, probably because proxy racing is an anathema to them. Hopefully, in coming years, this will not be the case, and more venues will be able to garner more people (especially me) to have a proper digital proxy with 6 skilled digital racers on track at once. It just didn't work out that way.
It was this, or no race at my venue.
