SIP 2018 Final Thoughts

Slothead Racing offers it's congratulations to the T-County Lug Nuts for their first place standing, and to Downundathunda for their solid performance in round 2. A big thanks goes to Palmer Beach for a great event and superb reporting.

Round 3 will be at Shelby-Hendrix Speedway, a technical 1/32 scale track with elevation changes. It's still being decided if World Sportscars (Le Mans coupes) such as Ford GT40's and Ferrari 512's will be used or open cockpit Can-Am cars such as McLaren M6's and Porsche 917/30 & 917/10. Either way, a closely matched field of cars will be put forth for teams to choose from. Priority in selection will be given in reverse order of the current standings, meaning D&D Racing gets first choice with Lug Nuts choosing last. Slothead Racing will take what's left.

much improved effort from the team, amazing what a stern talking too and some concentration on the jobs at hand, instead of taking in the view, has done Great team effort from the driver and mechanics.Look foeward to the next round

I can only hope that the next race at Shelby-Hendrix is in NO way related to those overrated Shelby type cars that just won't go away.. :angry-tappingfoot:

Shelby-Hendrix Speedway was shut down last weekend for of all things - a baby shower.

The cars for the Round 3 have been selected from the track's World Sportscar Championship Series for a very competitive lineup on the grid:

#6L - Fly Lola T70 MK3B
#50 - Fly Lola T70 MK3B
# 3 - Scalextric Ferrari 330 P4
#6F - Fly Ferrari 512S
#57 - Fly Porsche 917
# 8 - Scaleextric Ford GT40
# 1 - Scalextric Chaparral 2F
# 4 - MRRC Chaparral 2F

These are all stock RTR cars, only urethane rear tires have been added & body screws loosened for float. I'll post pictures ASAP and then the teams can start selecting their cars - led by D&D Racing.
