I traded a chassis for one of Tom's laminated bodies several years ago and he gave me his phone number and said to give him a call. When I did we talked about racing and slot cars for over an hour. He loved the hobby and was a good guy.
When my dad, who built me my first track in our basement back in the 60's, died 5 years ago I started my 'Endless Summer Racing Series - where all good things that ever were, still are'. Hobbies give us a place to honor the past and have it race door handle to door handle with the present. Think of all the tracks and clubs where Dale Earnhardt and Davey Allison are still winning races. Tom's car, the 27J, is a top runner in it's class and I'll be turning a bunch of hot laps with it today with a smile of remembrance.
Kelly, when you are able to I think Tom would love for you to run many thousand more laps, for both of you.
