Looks like I'm in for now. I have been fiddling around trying to make a brass chassis for a Scaley Mini and it looks like it may work. (boy, am I surprised!)

I would like to try my hand at this, as it looks like it ought to be a LOT of fun!
(will be my first proxy build!)
Can you PM the details on getting a body from you? I think either version will be fine - but if I can have a choice, I think the flared wheel well one might fit my plans a bit better.
I am planning on fabricating a chassis, (will have to come up with something for an interior) verses trying to cut something down, which should give me an opportunity to work on my bending / soldering / hair pulling out skills.
This should be a LOT of fun! :D

Here's a little progress. . .



The pickup is just about done. The grey Mini is almost in working order.

The old Scalextric Minis in green, pink and orange were the inspirations for the Autograss idea.The orange Metro might make a decent entry if it had a scratchbuilt chassis - these really weren't Scalextric's finest hour!



This one still needs its numbers, and a bit of attention to the ride height at the front.

I am hoping to start tearing into mine this weekend as I will be picking up some brass sheet, tubing and wire tonight at the track. Received my body from ShotgunDave and already looking at possible paint schemes... :)

I put the flames om my pickup last night, truck looked great till I put the #s on the door and covered up the flames there. Drove it for about 100 laps with no offs. It is not all that fast but handles real well. Need the find some paint for the grill area tonight. Opps I need to add the driver and roll bar.

Or, you could just leave it.

Autograss takes place on muddy fields, and the surface is never perfect.

For us "new guys" to this - I am used to running at a much larger track (local commercial) - can you guys provide some guidance on what gear ratio I should be looking at (at what rear tire diameter) as I don't want to be over/under geared by a notable margin if I can help it.
