Okie Dokie Dudes. Got a couple coats of primer on just to see where it needs some attention. Looks pretty descent a couple places need some. But, there are gonna be some that don't get fixed just because of where they are at. Not into fiddling with those. Will call them debris marks from bibbsters car. :laughing-rolling: :auto-driving: Besides they won't show up as bad with it being white.

Fumey, the primer, paint, and clearcoat were all Krylon. I normally use Tamiya almost exclusively and I never have troubles, particularly since I am a Future fan for dependable results on a finished car, but this time, I had to accommodate the situation, and Tamiya's version of Gulfblau was from the wrong year and badly off for this project.

I'm back on the track. It is sitting out there now with a fresh coat of snow white primer, all sanded and looking good. I discovered part of why my filling was inadequate on the body before. My putty had hardened and I think it didn't stick. I refilled a lot wearing a magni-visor, so it may be better than before when it dries.

About this name on the cars thing... Are we talking about the owner's name across the windshield and the original driver's name on the doors? In my case, as a pinch-hitter, I thought I would do the whole car as though it was done by the original entry, and put my name and address on the chassis belly. Is that kosher? I don't want my presence in this thing to become a nuisance, and god help us if the car gets mailed to the north woods in error. Poor Johnny might be watching his mailbox for months.

OK. Kinda figured they were going to sit a bit high. I took all the material out I dared to also. They may not be to bad though since there is no full interior.

Dave that looks great. I should mention that the pattern provided for dropping the front valance is really excellent. Great job on that, HRW member.

I am out of practice fooling with these wheels. When I put them on the Tire Razor I overturned those teeny set screws like I did years ago. I'll have to straighten that out with some spare screws, or maybe just tap the holes bigger and put in a grub screw that has some meat on it to get them tight enough for proper turning. No big deal either way. Anyway, I'm turning my tires down a lot. I want this as low as the real car, and I get lots more footprint on the track with that kind of realistic stance. And frankly, this body has me spooked after today's setback. I never had so much trouble with a body that started out gorgeous like this. Now I'm hoping I don't screw it up and have to ask for another. Dave, is it possible to get a replacement body, just in case?

I believe we are ready for paint. Spot areas look good. A final wet sand with some 1500 tomorrow and if all is cool squirt some paint. Just the white. Black after it's all masked off inside and out. That's the worst part.

I don't have a tire razor, just bought some Dremel sanding drums based on the review here on HRW. Will these work good enough for both front and rears? I can use my calipers to check as I sand away.

I'll have to shoot some pics of mine to share - chassis is "close".
Not going to make it for tonight's trip to the track - but definitely should be good to go for next week! Rear bushings glued in, motor installed, wheels deburred to fit axles, tires glued on - ready to be trued - only need to glue up those front axle bushings and address the guide after the tire truing and she should be able to move under her own power. :)
The body is coming along nicely, with the wheel wells now opened up and getting staged to start addressing the tiny little voids while waiting on the front valence piece. :)
